The Counseling Class
Before a bankruptcy case can be filed, you are required to take a short online class about money and credit. It’s easy — here’s what to know.
One short class
The class takes about an hour — online, on your phone or computer, at your own pace. We’ll give you a code to use when you sign up. When you finish, you get a certificate — that’s the document we need. The certificate is only good for 180 days, so it’s best to take the class soon. Watch the short video to see how it works.
Take the class
Follow the link below to complete the required class. The class takes about an hour — online, on your phone or on a computer.
When you finish, your attorney gets your certificate automatically — as long as you used the attorney code above. If you get a copy of your certificate, you can also add it with the Counseling class certificate button on the left. Either way works.
You don’t have to stop. Keep going and finish the rest of this form now. If you haven’t taken the class by the time you submit, we’ll send you a friendly reminder with the class link. Your case just can’t be filed with the court until we have it.
